Travelling is one of the most fun things you can do. You get to explore new places, meet new people, and experience different cultures. So why not do something different with your weekends and travel abroad!
New York, USA
If you’re looking for a city break then you must visit New York! It may not be you’re idea of a relaxing destination but New York has a little something for everyone and certainly tend to your needs be it food, clothing or sights. Regardless of what you get up too, make sure you find the time to admire the view from the top of the Empire State Building, after taking a trip to Staten Island, Central Park or the Museum of Modern Art. You’ll find it hard trying to fit everything into a weekend so make sure you have your to-do’s planned out.
Brighton, United Kingdom
If you can put up with the UK’s unpredictable weather then you’ll love this eccentric city. There’s always something unexpected to enjoy so if you’re looking for some sea, bars and a less busy place away from London than you must visit Brighton! If you’re a lover of jewellery than you have to visit The Lanes for silver, antique jewellery or one of the many flea markets galore over in the North Laines. No trip to Brighton however is ever complete until you walk down Brighton Pier.
Rome, Italy
Rome is a must see on any adventure around Europe. Italy’s capital and the city of the seven hills, Rome encompasses everything for that perfect sightseeing trip. With history dating back to the era of Octavian and Julius Caesar, Rome is filled with beautiful structures, statues and museums such as the Pantheon and the Roman Forum. If you’re an art enthusiast then you’ll love the Vatican Museum and The Colosseum as they encompass the beauty and culture of Italy. Make sure however that you try out the best of Italy by trying out some of their traditional dishes and local cuisines.
Barcelona, Spain
If you’re looking for art, sun and fun then you must head to Barcelona for a weekend adventure. You might want to visit the magnificent Gaudi’s Church of the Sacred Family and continue the visit to Park Guell. In the evening why not relax and take a sip of sangria at a sidewalk café in Las Ramblas while watching street performers work their magic, then create your own feast by mix and matching some of the greatest tapas bars around.
Paris, France
Summer may be over but love is definitely in the air, so why not fall in love with Paris this September. With a variety of routes you can take to Paris, make this month the time to explore. You can’t choose a more popular destination than the French capital, not only are there a wide range of galleries, historical architecture and fantastic food but you can also find some amazingly quirky places such as the Shakespeare and Company bookshop opposite the Siene from Notre Dame. Nonetheless a trip to Paris will never be complete if you don’t hit: The Louvre, Notre Dame and The Eiffel Tower; so make sure you leave enough time.
There’s a world of opportunity out there just waiting to be explored, so make sure you don’t miss out! Remember, the only thing that’s limiting you is your imagination.
